Carbon Footprint for organisations

CO2focus offers effective tools for carbon management. One of the main elements in carbon management is the preparation of your carbon footprint.

Our model is based on the international standard the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Initiative (The GHG Protocol), which is the most widely used accounting tool to manage greenhouse gas emissions. The tool was developed through a decade-long partnership between the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. The protocol consists of two accounting standards ("corporate accounting and reporting" and "project accounting") explaining how to quantify and report GHG emissions. The GHG Protocol is working with businesses, governments, and environmental groups around the world and was in 2006 used as the basis for the ISO standard 14064-I: Specification with Guidance at the Organization Level for Quantification and Reporting of Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Removals.

The GHG protocol bases the climate reporting on three scopes of direct and indirect emissions covering the six greenhouse gases CO2, CH4 (methane), N2O (nitrous oxide), SF6, HFCs and PFCs:
